HGTV approached us to take their Smart Home Sponsorship campaign in a fresh direction and show off the amazing technology, efficiency, and beauty of their state-of-the-art house while exciting viewers to enter and win the home. Did we mention they had six completely different, equally important sponsors that needed custom vignettes?
Or that the house should be treated like a museum, without a single fiber being out of place? Or that a winter ice storm blew through Nashville the day before our first shoot? No matter, we navigated a back-to-back week-long shoot schedule with multiple sponsors per day (yes, that’s a LOT of pre pro books) to maximize our budget efficiencies while delivering the best work possible. This project also included a car shoot with the new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid on the winding country roads of Tennessee, as well as our favorite new toy – a helicopter cam – to get those dynamic shots, and we pulled it all off beautifully.
Our new approach included creating the 2014 HGTV Smart Home Inspectors in order to show off the cool, cutting edge features of the house. Our experts, including interviews with some of the lead designers behind the house, had just the right amount of playfulness, getting swept up in their professional duties by the amazing aspects of the home – remote-controlled showers, apps to lock your doors, climate-controlled, massaging mattresses, and eco-friendly floors. This expansive campaign had it all, and we were happy to be such a big part of it!
